This item is neither a kit nor an airplane model; it is a detail accessory for the cockpit. The set of 3D decals from Quinta Studio takes the place of painting and of photo-etched parts in the cockpit of the American Curtiss P-40E Warhawk fighter in 1:48 scale. It is shaped for the P-40E plastic kit from Eduard.
A 3D decal combines a decal with 3D printing: it has real thickness and raised relief, so the instruments, levers, switches and the stitching of the belts stand proud and cast a shadow. The piece is finished in color in advance, so painting the small cockpit details falls away.
The P-40E Warhawk was one of the main production versions of the Curtiss P-40, with an Allison V12 and heavy armament in the wings; it became famous among other things in the colors of the Flying Tigers and of Allied squadrons on many fronts of the Second World War.
Remove the molded suggestion of the instruments from the cockpit plastic, so that the decal seats on a flat surface. Use a slower-drying glue to give yourself time to position it; the small pieces are fragile, so work with tweezers. Finish the cockpit before putting the fuselage halves together.
This is a detail accessory for modelers, not a kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
