A set of photo-etched parts for a model of the American P-47D-30 Thunderbolt fighter in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The P-47 Thunderbolt was among the heaviest single-engine fighters of the Second World War. A rugged structure and heavy armament made it a machine sought after both for escorting bombers and for attacking ground targets, where it could take a hit that a lighter aircraft would not have survived. The D-30 designation belongs to the late production machines of the D series.
Photo-etched parts for a model of the P-47D-30 in 1:48 scale. Photo-etch replaces the elements that always come out of plastic somewhat thicker than they should be, and it adds fine detail of a kind that would not stand out on a plastic part. Which kit the set belongs to and where the individual parts go are given in the manufacturer's instructions; photo-etched sets tend to be tied to one particular kit, so check that before you build.
Before you glue a photo-etched part on, you usually have to remove the corresponding plastic detail and level the area beneath it. Separate the parts with a sharp knife on a firm surface, sand the remains of the fret tabs and make the bends in a photo-etch bender or over the edge of a steel rule. Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a primer.
The set is for modelers who want to raise the level of detail on a well-known kit and do not mind slower work with small parts. Unless stated otherwise, the kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery.
