This is a detail accessory, not an aircraft model. The set contains 3D-printed resin aircrew parachutes of the type used by the British and American air arms, in 1:48 scale. A parachute seated in the pilot seat or thrown into the cockpit adds realism to a scene and fills the empty space of the seat.
RAF and USAAF aircrew of the Second World War sat on a seat-type or back-type parachute that formed part of the seat. Its shape, straps and buckles are among the striking details of an open cockpit and are often missing on a model or only hinted at.
Separate the parts from the print supports, wash and degrease them, and bond them with super glue. Paint the pack of the parachute itself in canvas shades, set the straps apart and bring out the fittings; a fine wash deepens the folds of the fabric.
The set contains accessory parts only. The glue, the paints and the base model are not included in the package.
