A set of replacement resin wheels in 1:72 scale for models of the American Grumman F4F, or FM-2, Wildcat carrier fighter. The type 2 rendering corresponds to a different tread pattern variant; the tires are cast as weighted, with flattening where they meet the ground. It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory that replaces the plastic wheels out of the box.
Cast wheels have crisper detail than injection-molded plastic parts, and the weighted shape gives a standing model a convincing impression of weight. The Wildcat was the main carrier fighter of the US Navy in the first years of the war in the Pacific.
First wash the parts free of mold release agent residue, separate them carefully from the casting blocks or print supports and clean them up. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin and apply a primer before painting.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
