A decal sheet in 1:48 scale with markings for Royal Aircraft Factory S.E.5a fighter biplanes in Polish service.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Royal Aircraft Factory S.E.5a was a British single-seat fighter biplane from the end of the First World War and belonged to the machines that earned a reputation among pilots as a solid, fast fighter. After the war it also entered service with the Polish Air Force, and it is the Polish machines that this sheet is devoted to.
It is an accessory for plastic models in 1:48 scale: the markings are applied to a finished, sprayed model, so the small insignia and numbers do not have to be painted by hand. How many machines and which schemes the sheet covers is given in the instructions issued with it. Use them to check which kit the motifs are shaped for as well, and how they are laid out over the upper and lower surfaces of the wings.
On biplanes it pays to apply the decals before you fit the struts and rig the bracing, because the wing surfaces become hard to reach afterward. Go over the spot under the motif with a gloss varnish, cut the motif out closely to the printing, soak it in lukewarm water and, once it has released from the backing, slide it onto the model. Blot the remaining water away; on fabric covering with raised ribs a softener helps. Once dry, even the surface out with a varnish in the sheen you want. Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is a self-adhesive version: a soaked self-adhesive film is ruined.
The package holds a decal sheet. The kit, the paints, the varnishes and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
