Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet KV heavy tank with the so-called big turret, commonly designated the KV-2, in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The model captures a massive vehicle with a tall boxy turret carrying a 152 mm howitzer. The package holds a fret of photo-etched parts and decals with Soviet army markings; check the exact number of parts and schemes against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The KV with the big turret, that is the KV-2, was created on the chassis of the KV-1 heavy tank by fitting a tall boxy turret with the 152 mm M-10 howitzer. It was originally meant to destroy fortifications and bunkers in the war with Finland. The huge turret, however, made the vehicle tall, heavy and far from agile, and the crew jokingly nicknamed it a mobile cupboard. Even so, its heavy weapon could knock out any target of the day. It was fielded in the opening battles of 1941 on the Eastern Front.
Assemble and paint the running gear before you close the hull; the tall turret dominates the model, so give attention to gluing it cleanly. Glue with liquid cement for plastic and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. After the protective green, apply a gloss coat under the decals and complete the weathering with dark washes in the recesses and pigments for mud and dust effects on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
