Resin antennas for the British de Havilland Sea Vixen FAW.2 carrier fighter in 1:48 scale from Quickboost (the range of simple resin parts by Aires). The finely cast antennas replace simplified or missing plastic kit parts and faithfully complete the external fit of the airframe. It is not an aircraft model but a small detailed replacement that sharpens the silhouette of a finished model.
The de Havilland Sea Vixen was a British all-weather carrier fighter of the Fleet Air Arm with its characteristic twin-boom layout and an offset cockpit sunk into the fuselage. The FAW.2 version was a more advanced form with a longer range. The small antennas on the airframe complete an accurate silhouette, and on a finished model a clean resin casting is more convincing than thicker plastic parts.
These are resin castings. Wash them in lukewarm water with detergent and rid them of any mold release agent, otherwise neither paint nor glue will hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw away from the part and sand the surfaces. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate), not with plastic cement. Protect your airways while sanding.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin set for more experienced modelers. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
