An exterior set for a model of the Spitfire Mk.IX fighter in 1:48 scale, aimed at the control surfaces of the airframe. Cut for a particular kit, which the manufacturer's instructions give.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Spitfire Mk.IX came about as a quick answer to the German Fw 190, which in 1941 gained the upper hand over the Channel. Into the airframe of the older version it received a more powerful twelve-cylinder V12 Merlin engine with a two-stage supercharger. Outwardly that showed in a longer nose and a four-blade propeller, and the machine thereby regained its performance at high altitude. The version was built in large numbers and served until the end of the war on most theaters.
An exterior set for a model of the Spitfire Mk.IX in 1:48 scale, aimed at the control surfaces, that is at the rudder, elevators and ailerons supplied separately. The set is cut for a particular kit; before buying, verify in the manufacturer's instructions which one, and compare that with the kit you have. The scope of delivery and the number of parts are likewise given in the instructions.
Control surfaces supplied separately allow a model to be brought to life by not leaving them in the neutral position. Choose a mild deflection and above all a consistent one: pick one situation, that is a parked machine or a machine in motion, and set all the surfaces to match it. The original surfaces molded in one piece are as a rule cut off the kit; the extent of the work and the way of gluing are given in the manufacturer's instructions, so choose the glue according to the material of the parts. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts, otherwise the coat will not hold on them.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
