A plastic kit of the British fighter aircraft Spitfire Mk.IXe in 1:48 scale. The model is meant for assembly and painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Spitfire is one of the most famous British fighter aircraft of the Second World War. The Mk.IX version was created as a quick response to the deployment of the German Fw 190: it paired the airframe of earlier versions with the more powerful V12 Merlin engine with a two-stage supercharger. At higher altitudes, this let the aircraft regain the performance edge it had meanwhile lost. The letter e at the end of the designation distinguishes the wing armament variant.
This is a plastic kit in 1:48 scale, one of the most widely used aircraft modeling scales. The finished model is large enough to reward panel-line highlighting and a detailed cockpit, while still fitting into an ordinary display case. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted, so assembly, filling, and painting are all part of the modeler's work.
It pays to work calmly and not rush the glue. Before gluing anything permanently, dry-fit the main parts and see where sanding will be needed.
The kit will please a modeler who already has basic experience gluing and painting plastic models and wants to build one of the most famous fighter aircraft of its time. Paints, glue, putty, and other modeling supplies are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
