Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary British fighter Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is a release in the Weekend Edition range focused on Operation Overlord, the Allied landings in Normandy in June 1944. The box offers several decal schemes for machines from that period and a few photo-etched parts; masks and resin accessories are not included.
The Spitfire is among the best known fighters of the Second World War. The Mk.V version was the most widespread variant, powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. In the days around the invasion of Normandy the machines carried conspicuous quick-recognition stripes and flew cover, observation and ground-attack missions.
Finish the cockpit and the interior before you close up the fuselage. It is best to spray the invasion stripes first and mask them afterwards, so that the transitions stay clean. Use a gloss clear coat before the decals and lay the scheme over good masks. The Weekend range contains fewer extras, which leaves all the more room for your own weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
