A cockpit accessory for a plastic model, not an aircraft kit. The color print with relief texture is on decal paper and transfers like an ordinary decal: soak it off in lukewarm water, slide it onto the part, line it up and settle it with a decal softener. The set is cut for the Kitty Hawk kit. A version for the Hobby Boss kit also exists under the same name, so choose according to the kit you are actually building.
The Su-34 has an arrangement unusual among combat aircraft: the two-man crew does not sit one behind the other but side by side in a wide armored cockpit entered from below through the nose landing gear bay. For the modeler that changes everything. The instrument panel does not reach across the width of one seat but across the whole cockpit, so the area that has to be done is several times larger than on a single-seat fighter. The two stations are not copies of each other either — each has a different arrangement of controls. The fitting out of the cockpit is mixed: large screens are completed by classic round instruments, which unlike Western machines of the same generation remained here to a greater extent.
The canopy is large and hinges upward and the cockpit is wide, so even once it is closed practically the whole panel stays visible from one edge to the other, along with both seats and the belts. An unfinished cockpit gives itself away immediately here, because gray plastic takes up an unusually large area under the clear part. Before closing up, polish the clear part and allow the decals to dry completely — under a closed canopy they can no longer be corrected.
The set is an accessory for the build, not a kit. The model, glue, paints and decal softener are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
