About product

Eduard 1:48 T-6G Texan painting masks

A set of precisely die-cut self-adhesive kabuki paper masks from the Czech company Eduard makes painting the canopy frames of the T-6G Texan trainer model in 1:48 scale far easier. The masks replace the laborious cutting of masking tape and give sharp, clean transitions between the clear areas and the paint.

What the masks are for

Kabuki paper holds well, follows even slightly curved surfaces and leaves no adhesive behind when peeled off. Sets of this type usually cover the frames of the canopy glazing; many sets also include masks for the wheel hubs so that the tires can be painted cleanly. The remaining glazing is masked with a tape infill or with masking fluid.

Usage tips

Clean and degrease the glazing before masking. Lift the masks carefully with tweezers and seat them exactly inside the frames. Apply the paint in thin coats, ideally with an airbrush, so that it does not creep under the edge. Remove the mask while the paint is still fresh.

Who the masks are for

  • builders of the T-6G Texan model in 1:48 scale
  • modelers who want sharp canopy frames without hand-cut tape
  • anyone after faster and cleaner masking
