About product

Quickboost landing gear doors for the Ta 154 (1:48)

This is a resin detail accessory of the Quickboost brand, not a stand-alone model. The set holds precisely cast landing gear doors for the Focke-Wulf Ta 154 kit in 1:48 scale. The thin castings replace the thicker plastic parts and add a true-to-life structure that injection molding cannot reach.

The real subject

The Ta 154 was a German twin-engine night fighter of the Second World War with a largely wooden structure and a nosewheel landing gear. The landing gear bay doors are among the details that are clearly visible on the model, and a good casting raises the realism of the lower fuselage.

Building tips

Wash the mold release residue off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The set is meant for a separately purchased plastic kit.

Who the accessory is for

  • Modelers who want to refine the landing gear section beyond out-of-the-box building.
  • Builders of the Ta 154 in 1:48 scale.
  • Anyone interested in a more accurate shape and thinner edges of the doors.

The plastic kit itself and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.

FAQ

No. This is a resin detail accessory with landing gear doors, used on a separately purchased Ta 154 plastic kit in 1:48 scale.

Cast resin, which allows finer detail and thinner edges than injection-molded plastic.

Once the mold release agent is washed off, the resin parts are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), not with ordinary plastic cement.
