An injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier aircraft Douglas TA-3B Skywarrior in 1:48 scale from Trumpeter. The TA-3B is the training version derived from the A-3 carrier bomber, with a cockpit modified for training further crew members. This extensive kit contains a finely detailed cockpit and landing gear bays, folding wings and photo-etched seat belts.
The Douglas A-3 Skywarrior was a large twin-engine jet carrier aircraft of the US Navy, one of the biggest machines ever operated from the decks of aircraft carriers. It originally appeared as a heavy strike bomber, but it soon proved itself in a number of other roles as well. The TA-3B version was used for crew training — the bombardier station was moved into the cockpit and adapted for instruction.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with liquid cement for plastic, and the fine photo-etched belts with cyanoacrylate. On a large model make sure the fuselage is glued firmly and straight and that the engine nacelles are correctly seated. The folding wings allow an effective carrier deck display. Mask the glazing and shade the surface with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
