Vacuum-formed canopy Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib (late) 1:48 (Rob Taurus) is a crystal-clear canopy as a replacement for the plastic part from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A crystal-clear vacuum-formed (vacuform) canopy from the Czech maker Rob Taurus, intended as a replacement for the injection-molded part from the kit, for models of the Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib fighter-bomber in 1:48 scale. This is the late variant of the canopy. It is not a model of an aircraft but a modeling accessory for more faithful cockpit glazing.
A vacuum-formed part has thinner, cleaner walls than production plastic canopies, so it passes light better and matches the scale. The cockpit of the Typhoon therefore looks natural, and the part makes it easier to show the canopy open.
Cut the canopy out carefully around its edge, sand the edges down and try the fit dry. It is glued with clear PVA glue or with spots of cyanoacrylate, so that the surfaces do not fog. Dipping it in a modeling polish raises the clarity. Mask the frames carefully before painting.
This is a clear replacement canopy, not a complete kit. The model, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
