An accessory set for the engine section of a UH-1C helicopter kit in 1:48 scale. The parts are glued with super glue; their placement is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Responsibility details are not available.
The UH-1C is the armed version of the American Bell UH-1 helicopter, known by the nickname Huey. It came about to support troops being inserted and differs from the transport versions in, among other things, a reworked rotor and pylons for armament. The machine sets down on skids and the powerplant sits on the back of the fuselage behind the rotor head, so it is easy to reach on a model.
The set is aimed at the powerplant section of the helicopter in 1:48 scale and serves to model the space that an injection-molded kit usually handles with no more than a hint. The number of parts, their numbers and the necessary rework of the plastic parts are given in the manufacturer's instructions enclosed with it.
The parts are not polystyrene and are joined with super glue or epoxy. Cut the excess material and the production marks away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the surface. Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water before painting and let them dry. Wear stands out on the engine section if a dark wash and faint oil traces are added after the base coat.
The set is intended for modelers who want to build the Huey with the engine panels open or to set it in a scene with ground personnel. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
