Tamiya 1:48 U.S. Howitzer Motor Carriage M8 is an injection-molded plastic kit of the American self-propelled gun of the Second World War on the chassis of the Stuart light tank.
Responsibility details are not available.
This plastic kit captures the American M8 self-propelled gun fitted with a 75 mm howitzer. The model is built on a hull derived from the M5 Stuart light tank and offers well worked-up detail, including a suggestion of the gun breech in the open turret. The package contains metal weights for a convincing heft, one full figure of the commander and decals for several marking options.
The M8 was built on the M5 Stuart hull and carried a 75 mm howitzer in an open rotating turret. Around 1800 were produced between September 1942 and the beginning of 1944. The vehicle provided mobile fire support and was used in Italy, in western Europe and in the Pacific. The open turret gave a good field of view and easy handling of the weapon.
Finish the running gear and the turret interior before closing up the hull. Glue the parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic; a primer and an airbrush are recommended. The open turret gives room for picking out detail and adding the commander figure. For a realistic appearance, use washes and dust pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
