Hauler 1:48 carrier pigeons of the US Army is a small diorama accessory in 1:48 scale for bringing a scene to life, not a kit of a vehicle or an aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small set of diorama elements on the theme of army carrier pigeons in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit, nor an accessory to one particular model; they are separate details with which a scene is filled out: a field post, the back area of an airfield, a staff car or the corner of a diorama with figures. Take the set as a scenic element that gives a diorama a story without taking up room.
As late as the Second World War the carrier pigeon was a common backup means of communication. It was used where radio failed or where radio silence was to be kept, that is, with reconnaissance and airborne units, on ships and with aircrews. The birds were carried in portable baskets and cages and released with a message fastened to a leg. In a scene, pigeons therefore look credible at a signals post, by a command car and beside a figure carrying a basket.
Separate the parts, according to the material they are made of, either from the fret or from the casting block, and sand the cut area down. Resin castings are worth washing in lukewarm water with detergent before painting, so that no mold release agent stays on them, because paint will not hold on it. The ground is a thin coat of primer. Feathers look better when the base tone is laid on with thinned paint and the edges are then brought out by drybrushing. An eye is made by a dot of dark paint applied under a magnifier. Finally settle the element into the base with putty or with glue mixed with fine sand, so that it does not stand on the scene as though stuck on.
This is a diorama accessory, not a model. The base, the figures, glue and paints are not included in the package.
