The figure of a female pilot in 1:48 scale is intended for modern machines of the US Air Force; you will stand her beside a taxiing aircraft, on the ramp during preflight preparation or on a base beside a finished model. The Vol.3 designation in the name points to the third variation on the subject, so several figures from the whole series can be combined.
A machine on a base looks good by itself, but only a human figure gives it scale. The viewer understands at once how big the aircraft actually is, and the scene gains action. The female pilot suits modern fighters in 1:48, whether the F-16, the F-15 or other present-day types of the US Air Force, and she will catch the eye on her own too in a display case among finished models.
