This is a standalone decal sheet in 1:48 scale intended for models of the McDonnell RF-101C Voodoo reconnaissance aircraft. The designation of the first part suggests that the manufacturer divided the subject into several sheets, so a builder can complete the collection of markings with the sheet that follows. The particular machines and schemes are given by the manufacturer on the packaging of the sheet, so compare them before building with the model you have.
The RF-101C was the unarmed tactical reconnaissance derivative of the twin-engined F-101 Voodoo fighter aircraft. It differed from the combat version above all in a reworked forward part of the fuselage, into which cameras and their windows fitted. The aircraft was single-seat, two jet engines with afterburners powered it and its domain was fast reconnaissance at low altitude. With the US Air Force it served in the 1960s and it wore a natural metal surface as well as later camouflage finishes.
The basis of a successful application is a smooth gloss base. Never lay a decal straight onto matte paint, because air stays under the film and the edges turn white. Spray the finished paint with clear gloss varnish, therefore, let it cure properly and only then work with water. The glossy coat also makes it easier to slide the decal into the right position. Once dry, the whole model can be unified with a matte or semi-gloss varnish. On natural metal the gloss stands out, but it also emphasizes every imperfection beneath it, so it pays to sand the base carefully beforehand.
