A resin detail set of exhaust nozzles for models of the Panavia Tornado in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory that replaces the rear ends of the engine nacelles with more faithful castings with well rendered detail of the nozzles.
The Panavia Tornado is a European twin-engined combat aircraft with a variable-sweep wing, developed by the Panavia consortium and powered by Turbo-Union RB199 engines. The exhaust nozzles are a very visible part of the airframe, and cast resin allows a finer rendering of the petals and the inner surfaces here than the plastic from the box can manage. The result is a more realistic rear end of the model.
First wash the parts free of mold release agent residue in warm water with detergent, then separate them from the casting blocks with a sharp knife or a fine saw. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue; sand and file with respiratory protection. A dry test of the mating surfaces and any fine adjustment before the final gluing are recommended. It pays to paint the inner surfaces of the nozzles before the final assembly.
This is an add-on detail set, not the model itself. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
