A set of waterslide decals in 1:48 scale for models of the legendary carrier fighter Corsair, both in the Vought F4U-1 version (known as the Corsair II in British service) and in the FG-1D form built under license by Goodyear. The decals serve to finish a kit that has already been built and painted.

The real subject

The Corsair is an American single-seat carrier fighter of the Second World War period, easily recognized by its cranked gull wing and its massive radial engine. Besides the US Navy and the Marine Corps it also served with the British Fleet Air Arm under the Corsair designation; the FG-1D version came from license production by Goodyear.

Use and application

• Give the surface under the decals a gloss varnish.
• Release the decal in lukewarm water and move it onto the model.
• Softener helps the decal follow the panel lines.
• Seal it at the end with matte or satin varnish.
