It is not a kit, but an accessory for the painting stage; the film is lifted with tweezers straight from the sheet and leaves no adhesive behind once removed. The AH-64 is a two-seat attack helicopter with a tandem cockpit arrangement, two turboshaft engines and fixed landing gear with a tailwheel. The AH-64D version is fitted with a surveillance radar placed above the main rotor head, which makes it possible to track targets without direct visibility from the cockpit. The British license variant referred to by the designation in the product name was built in Europe and differs above all in its engines and equipment. The cockpit has flat, slightly sloped windows in a fixed frame — good news for masking, because there is no need to work with a curved surface.
On a helicopter it pays to mask the glazing from inside as well as outside. The inner side of the part tends to be easily accessible on models, and paint that gets inside is then clearly visible through flat glass. Press an applied mask down with the blunt side of tweezers, not with a fingernail, so that the flat surface is not scratched. Spray the frames with the interior shade first, then with the outer finish. Because helicopter models are usually weathered more heavily, leave the masks in place during the wash as well and take them off at the very end — you will save yourself cleaning the glass.
