Replacement wheels in 1:48 scale with the tire flattened as it looks under the weight of a standing aircraft; for the Soviet Yak-7/9, La-5/7, LaGG-3, I-185 and MiG-3 fighters.
Responsibility details are not available.
Soviet-built fighters of the Second World War, that is the Yak-7 and Yak-9, the La-5 and La-7, the LaGG-3, the I-185 and the MiG-3, stood on fairly soft tires that visibly settled under the weight of the machine. The kit part, by contrast, tends to be perfectly round, and the model then looks as if it hardly touched the ground.
The package holds replacement main landing gear wheels for 1:48 scale, shaped with a flattening at the bottom of the tire. They are fitted in place of the parts from the kit onto its original landing gear legs. How many pieces the package holds and which kits the set is figured for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The material is not polystyrene, so modeling cement for plastic does not work here; use super glue or epoxy. Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down, so that the contact surface sits flat. Before painting, wash the wheel in lukewarm water with dish soap and let it dry thoroughly.
The set will please the modeler who cares that a finished aircraft really sits on the ground in a display case. Working with it is a matter of moments and calls for no intervention in the structure of the model. It is an accessory for your own kit; paints and glue are not in the package, unless stated otherwise.
