Eduard 1:48 Z-526 AFS Akrobat Weekend is a pre-painted photo-etched set of the Zoom range for the cockpit of the aerobatic Zlin. It is not a kit but an accessory for a model in 1:48 scale.

A photo-etched set printed in color of the Zoom range from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, intended for the cockpit of the single-seat aerobatic Zlin Z-526 AFS Akrobat in 1:48 scale. Zoom is a narrower selection out of a full photo-etched set: it concentrates on what is visible once the cockpit is closed, and it comes with the color already printed on. The Weekend suffix refers to the simplified edition of the same manufacturer's kit, in which photo-etched parts are not included.
The Zlin Z-526 AFS Akrobat is a Czechoslovak single-seat aerobatic aircraft from the production of Moravan Otrokovice, derived from the Trener range. Compared with the two-seat versions it has a modified fuselage and wing and was built directly for competition aerobatics, in which it made its mark in the nineteen-sixties and nineteen-seventies. The cockpit is glazed along its whole length, so the interior stays clearly visible on a finished model.
Pre-painted photo-etched metal brings one practical peculiarity: the printed color is given and the surrounding plastic has to adapt to it, not the other way round. Proceed, therefore, the opposite way from how you are used to. Spray the shade you want to put on the cockpit tub onto an offcut of sprue, hold the printed part against it and compare them in daylight and under a lamp. Even any deviation out by adjusting the surrounding color, never by overspraying the printing. Differences in sheen are then evened out by a final matte varnish, but that is applied only after the parts have been glued on and in a thin layer, so that the labels stay legible.
It is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
