An ammunition belt in 7.92x57 mm caliber in 1:48 scale. An accessory for open weapon bays, ammunition boxes and scenes around aircraft of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
The 7.92x57 mm round was the standard rifle caliber of the German armed forces, and in aircraft armament it was used in the rapid-firing machine guns that were fitted into fuselages and into flexible positions. The ammunition was fed to the weapon in belts stowed in boxes; during rearming and reloading the belts appeared laid out on tarpaulins and on the wing of an aircraft, which is a motif that gives a scene its story.
The set brings an ammunition belt in 1:48 scale. It comes into its own wherever a weapon bay is open and empty space would be visible, and also as a small item in its own right in a diorama with armorers.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a short distance from the part and sand the remainder carefully. Wash and degrease the part before painting. Choose the glue according to the material of the part; on parts that are not polystyrene, cyanoacrylate glue has proved itself. Start the painting with a dark base so that the recesses between the rounds stay in shadow. Apply the brass shade rather by dry-brushing along the edges of the cases, and set the bullets off in a darker metallic tone. Finally a fine wash helps, pulling the small relief together into one whole.
For modelers who build aircraft in 1:48 scale with exposed armament, and for diorama builders. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
