Responsibility details are not available.
The Mikuma was one of the ships of the Mogami class, that is of the Japanese cruisers of the 1930s. The original turrets of a smaller caliber were replaced before the war by guns of 20.3 cm caliber in twin turrets, so the ship moved into the heavy cruiser category. The silhouette stayed typically Japanese: a massive superstructure forward, torpedo armament and a stern given over to floatplanes. The Mikuma served in the first months of the fighting in the Pacific, and in June 1942 the fleet lost her after a collision with her sister ship and the subsequent attack by American carrier aircraft.
A plastic model of a warship in the most widespread collectors' scale, 1:700. The subject measured around two hundred meters, so the finished model comes out at roughly twenty-nine centimeters in length. The year in the name refers to the form of the ship, not to her name. The list of parts and the color forms are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
First finish the hull and the deck, and only then fit the superstructure, the turrets, the catapults and the boats. Separate the thin parts, that is the masts and the gun barrels, with a sharp blade and sand the remaining material down. Spray the hull before the small equipment goes onto the deck, and apply the paint in thin coats. The rigging between the masts can be added with fine thread, which belongs on an almost finished model.
For collectors of Japanese cruisers, especially if you want to build both sister ships side by side. The kit is supplied unassembled; paints, glue and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
