A plastic model of the Japanese battleship Yamato in 1:700 scale, in her 1944 form. The finished model measures about thirty-seven centimeters in length.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Yamato was the largest battleship ever to enter service. The main armament consisted of nine guns of 46 cm caliber in three triple turrets. Her 1944 form differs strikingly from the original one: by then the ship had received markedly stronger anti-aircraft armament and new equipment on the superstructures, because the main threat had long ceased to be enemy battleships and had become carrier aircraft. The name of the operation in the title refers to the Japanese plan for the defense of the Philippines in the autumn of 1944, in which the Yamato took part.
A plastic model of a warship in the most widespread collectors' scale, 1:700. The subject measured over two hundred and sixty meters, so the finished model comes out at about thirty-seven centimeters in length. The year and the name of the operation in the title refer to the form of the ship in that period. The list of parts and the range of color forms are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Work from the hull and the deck, and only then fit the superstructure, the gun turrets and the boats. In the late form of the ship there are many small mounts on the deck, so plan the order in advance so that you do not have to go back in among finished parts. Separate the thin masts and barrels with a sharp blade and sand the remaining material down. Spray the hull before the small items come in turn, and apply the paint in thin coats.
For collectors of the Japanese fleet and for modelers who want the Yamato in her late combat form. The kit is supplied unassembled; paints, glue and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
