An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese battleship IJN Musashi in 1:700 scale from Fujimi. The model captures the ship as she was in 1942, that is, at the time of her completion. The full hull variant as well as the waterline version can be built; a display stand is enclosed for the full hull. The package contains decals with flags and insignia and finely rendered gunnery.
Musashi was the second battleship of the Yamato class and, together with her sister ship Yamato, she was among the most massive battleships ever built. She carried main armament of over 46 cm caliber, the largest ever used on a warship, and she was heavily armored. Musashi was sunk in October 1944 in the Sibuyan Sea during the Battle of Leyte Gulf after many hits from American carrier aircraft.
Decide on the full hull variant or the waterline version; seat the full hull on the enclosed stand. Finish and paint the superstructures, the main gun turrets and the massive bridge before fitting the small parts. Bond the fine railings and antennas with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer before varnishing, lay the paints down with an airbrush and bring out the decks and the superstructures with a fine wash and discreet weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
