This item carries the double-sided designation in its name, that is the rendition intended to cover the glazing from both sides. On a helicopter that makes sense: the cockpit stays clearly visible through the large panes and the inner outline of the frames cannot be hidden. The cut is worked out for the Airfix kit.
A five-blade main rotor, a pair of turboshaft engines above the cabin and a roomy interior make the Sea King one of the most characteristic helicopters of its day. The HC.4 rendition was adapted to carry troops and cargo: it lacks the sponsons on the fuselage sides, it stands on fixed landing gear and, because of ship hangars, it can fold the rotor blades and the tail boom.
Stick the inner parts on before you seat the glazing into the fuselage: once the part is in place you will no longer reach the inner side. The outer side comes in turn after assembly and degreasing. When spraying, hold the nozzle further from the edge and rather add one coat more than drive the paint under the film. Pull it off toward the middle of the area, not outward from the edge. When you lift a part, help yourself with the point of a scalpel; with a fingernail the edge bends and the paint peels away with it.
