Ammunition of 7.5 cm caliber for the Panther is a supplementary set from Plus Model. It brings rounds and transport crates matching the gun of the German medium tank. It is not a model of the vehicle but small equipment with which to fill the inside of the hull, the space by the loader or a resupply scene beside the machine.

What the set brings to a scene

An open crate with the rounds laid out is among the most rewarding elements you can add to a scene. It establishes the size of everything around it and at the same time gives the scene a story: the crew is topping up the supply, one round lies propped against a road wheel, empty cases are lying in the grass. The manufacturer also includes decals with the lettering of the crates and a small photo-etched fret, so the markings and the fittings can be taken all the way too. It will also serve well in the rear area, where a load is stacked in a heap beside a vehicle.

The real subject and its rounds

The Panther carried a long gun of 7.5 cm caliber with an exceptionally high muzzle velocity, which was among the most effective tank weapons of its day. Both armor-piercing rounds and high-explosive fragmentation ammunition were used with it; the individual kinds differed in the shape of the head and in their color marking, which is clearly apparent in 1:35 scale and is worth setting apart when painting.

• Separate the parts with a fine saw, not with nippers.
• Brass comes out well when applied over a smooth dark base.
• Seat the decals on a gloss surface, so that no haze is left around them.
• Darken the inside of the crate so that the rounds come forward.
• Turn the pieces slightly, so that they do not look like one and the same impression.
