A set of painting masks for the digital camouflage of the Mi-24 and Mi-35 helicopters in 1:48 scale. The pixel pattern is laid out across two sheets exactly as the Mi-35P Phoenix and Mi-35M machines received it.
Responsibility details are not available.
The digital scheme that the Russian combat helicopters received after their upgrade practically cannot be drawn freehand: it is made up of hundreds of small fields with hard edges. DN Models therefore cuts the whole pattern in advance. The set brings two sheets of thin masking tape with the finished fields of the pixel finish as it was introduced on the Mi-35P Phoenix machine and as the upgraded Mi-35M carries it too.
The order decides. First the lighter base is sprayed, the appropriate fields are laid onto it and only then does the darker shade come. Because the carrier is translucent, you can see underneath it and you will line up the transition between the fuselage, the wings and the engine nacelles precisely. Machine-cut edges keep the boundary as hard as on the real finish.
The Mi-35M is the export and deeply upgraded branch of the Hind family. It received a shortened wing, fixed landing gear, composite rotor blades and a reconnaissance and targeting system for night operations. The Mi-35P Phoenix is a newer Russian modification with a turret under the nose and reworked front glazing. It was precisely with these machines that the pixel finish replaced the earlier soft two-color and three-color patterns.
The set contains only masking sheets; see to the paints and the kit yourself.
