The Thunderstreak in a collector's package

The Republic F-84F was an attempt to carry the proven straight-winged Thunderjet into the era of swept wings. The result was given a new wing and tail surfaces, a stronger engine and a recognizable shape that became a common part of European air forces in the 1950s. It flew in Belgian, Dutch, German, Italian and French colors, and for many of those countries it was the first genuinely modern jet machine in numbers.

This package is not an ordinary box with a kit. It is a limited whole issued in a run of three hundred pieces, whose center of gravity is a picture publication devoted to precisely this type. Everything needed to build the model is put together around it, so the collector gets a book and a ready basis for the build in one.

What is inside besides the book

Alongside the publication the set holds graphic prints, a plastic kit of the aircraft in 1:72 scale and several accessories produced by 3D printing: a seat with modeled straps and wheels with a mask of their own. A mask for the cockpit glazing and a decal sheet for machines of the Belgian and Dutch air forces are enclosed as well.

The extent of the package corresponds rather to a well-equipped collector's edition than to a model on its own. The builder does without reordering accessories and at the same time has a picture reference at hand to draw on when painting and when fine-tuning the detail of the cockpit. The limited print run also means that making up a missing part from a second package may not be possible later.
