A kit of the South Korean supersonic trainer T-50i in the version delivered to the Indonesian Air Force. Scale 1:48, a short-run execution with richly detailed surfaces and variants of the weapon pylons.
Responsibility details are not available.
The South Korean T-50 Golden Eagle came about in the 1990s in cooperation between the KAI company and the American Lockheed Martin as a replacement for aging trainers. Aerodynamically it derives from the F-16 light combat aircraft and it is one of the few trainer types that will exceed the speed of sound in level flight. The letter at the end of the designation belongs to the export series for the Indonesian Air Force, which took the machines over in 2013 and 2014. The Indonesian examples were made famous by the prominent black and yellow coloring of the display team.
The moldings cover the slender fuselage with its pair of seats one behind the other, the leading-edge root extensions of the wing and the characteristic side air intakes. The arrangement of pylons makes it possible to build the machine in a training configuration as well as with stores, because the Indonesian version is adapted for combat use.
The large brands practically ignore modern Korean aircraft. This maker has only a few dozen of them in its range, but it covers the whole Golden Eagle family from the prototype to the combat versions, including the engine nozzles sold separately. A smaller run means a shorter series of molds and more careful engraving, but also that the model need not come back once it is sold out.
