An interior accessory for models of British aircraft of the First World War in 1:32 scale. It is not a kit of an aircraft but a wicker seat on its own, in the form with a full back and with a small leather pad on the top edge. According to the name the package includes the short as well as the tall variant.
The seats of British aircraft were woven from wicker, and the top edge of the back was often protected with a leather pad so that the weave did not chafe the pilot. Both are difficult for injected plastic: a mold cannot make a woven structure thin enough or a sharp transition between the wicker and the leather pad, so the part from the box tends to be smooth or merely suggested by engraving. In 1:32 scale and in an open cockpit the seat is at the same time the dominant element of the interior. A separately made resin part manages thin rods, openings in the weave and a clearly legible pad, so when painting you can separate the matte wicker from the leather edge and the interior looks a class better at once.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with a detergent so that the paint holds. Separate them from the carrying block with a fine saw, not by breaking. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue in small doses. For the painting it helps to proceed by materials: first a straw or ocher base for the weave, a brown wash in the gaps between the strands, a dry brush on the raised fibers, and only then the leather pad separately with a brush in a darker brown with a slightly satin sheen. The difference in sheen does more than the difference in shade. A matte varnish on the wicker at the end. Belts are not stated, so do not reckon with them automatically.
This is an accessory, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unpainted, and glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
