Masks for the landing gear bays of a Kawasaki Ki-61-Id Hien model in 1:72 scale. They serve to separate the shade of the bays from the color of the airframe.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien served with the Japanese Army Air Force in the Second World War. It differed from most Japanese fighters in its liquid-cooled engine, which gave it a narrow pointed nose; the Allies used the code designation Tony for it. The Ki-61-Id form is a late machine of the first production series.
Masks for the landing gear bays of a model in 1:72 scale. They are prepared in their finished shape, so cutting tape and touching up with a brush in the corners falls away. The mask defines the boundary between the inside of the bay and the outer color, so the two areas can be sprayed separately and the edge stays crisp all the way around. Compare the shapes of the masks with the parts you are building before painting.
First wash and degrease the surface. Apply the mask before spraying, press the edges down and lay the paint on in several thin coats; once the paint has crept under, repainting the whole area is not worth it. Lift the mask off as soon as the coat has set. If something did seep under it after all, the repair is easiest straight away, while the paint is fresh. The shade of the inside of the bays differs from machine to machine; choose it according to the references for the particular version.
The aircraft kit, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
