Painting masks for the striking coloring of the B-24D Liberator assembly ship carried under the name First Sergeant, 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Consolidated B-24 Liberator was an American four-engine heavy bomber with a high-mounted narrow wing and twin vertical tail surfaces. The D version was among the first widely deployed ones. Some of the worn-out machines were later converted into so-called assembly ships: they served to get a formation taking off into order, and for that reason they received garish coloring by which the crews recognized their own formation even at a distance. The machine from this set is carried under the name First Sergeant.
These are painting masks for spraying the striking coloring of this assembly ship in 1:48 scale. A sprayed pattern holds on a broken-up surface better than large decals, which are hard to lay over riveting and panel lines. The exact extent of the sheet, the placement of the individual masks and the recommended order of the shades are described in the manufacturer's instructions.
Work from the lighter shades to the darker ones. Let every coat cure and only then stick down the masks for the next color. Press the edges down with a toothpick so that paint does not run under them, and spray in several thin coats. Remove the masks shortly after spraying and at an angle toward the rear, not perpendicular to the surface.
The set suits modelers who want to spray a complicated pattern and avoid piecing together large decals. The package holds masks; paints, glue and a kit are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
