The resin detail accessory Norden M-9 bombsight in 1:48 scale from Art Scale — two pieces for American bombers. It is not an aircraft model, but an accessory for the interior.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set contains two resin Norden M-9 bombsights in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but a detail accessory with which to improve the interior of a plastic model of an American bomber of the Second World War and of later years. The castings stand out for the fineness and sharpness of small details that injection-molded plastic often cannot capture.
The Norden was a precise optomechanical bombsight that American bombers used during the Second World War for aimed bomb release from high altitude. It was a complex instrument with gyroscopic stabilization and ranked among carefully guarded equipment; the characteristic boxy body of the sight is an unmistakable feature of the forward cabin of heavy and medium bombers.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release agent residue. Cut the casting blocks off with a sharp scalpel or a fine saw, never break them off, and wet-sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply primer to the resin, and bring out the metal parts with a dark wash and a light dry brush.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a standalone model. The base aircraft, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
