Nuts with a bolt shank in the 1.5 mm size are an add-on set for models of vehicles. They imitate a nut done up on a bolt passed through and are fitted into a drilled hole in place of a molded detail.

An add-on set of small parts for models of military and civilian vehicles. It is not a kit or a model. The part imitates not just a nut but a nut with a length of projecting shank, that is a joint where the bolt passes through the material and comes out on the other side.
A projecting shank is exactly the part an injection mold cannot do. On a production part it is either missing altogether or all that is left is a stub merging into the body of the nut, so the joint looks like a nut laid on a surface. In the larger scales, where the detail is looked at from close up, this difference is most noticeable. A fitted part holds the division between nut and shank even under paint.
Cut the original detail off flat with a scalpel and sand the surface over with fine abrasive paper. Prick the center with a point, drill the hole with a micro drill in a hand holder and choose the diameter by the lower part of the part, which goes into the hole. Make the hole rather shallower and deepen it if need be, rather than sinking the nut right down to its mating surface. Set the part in with tweezers and secure it with the slightest drop of cyanoacrylate glue from the tip of a wire.
The size goes by the scale of the model. In this range the designation 1.5 mm is among the larger sizes and matches a scale of about 1:35. On a joint with a shank fidelity of size matters especially, because an oversized part stops looking like a fastener and begins to look like an engineering feature of its own.
