This finely cast resin set from Quickboost (Aires) brings the position lights of the American supersonic Republic F-105D Thunderchief fighter-bomber in 1:48 scale. These are the small lights on the wings and the fuselage, which the casting captures more crisply and cleanly than plastic; some of the parts are in clear or translucent material, so once painted they look like real lights.
Position lights are a detail that easily disappears on a model, but from close up they add a great deal of realism. The plastic parts from the box tend to be blunt and without depth; the resin lights have a clean shape and a crisp edge. Painted over with translucent red, green and clear shades, they take on the convincing look of lights switched on or off.
