Hex bolt heads with a washer 1.9 mm in size. A joint with two graded shapes instead of one.
Responsibility details are not available.
A bolt with a washer looks different on a model from a bare head: under the hex a second, wider and lower shape is visible which visually settles the joint onto the surface. On real machinery a washer is fitted anywhere the head would otherwise cut through the sheet or where the load has to be spread. On a model this detail works mainly thanks to shadow: the hex casts a shadow onto the washer and the washer onto the surface, so the joint has depth even after being sprayed in one color.
Hex heads with a washer 1.9 mm in size according to the name of the item. It is a coarser dimension, which you check best by multiplying with the figure of the scale: in 1:35 scale it corresponds to roughly sixty-six millimeters on the real machine, in 1:24 scale to about forty-six and in 1:16 scale to roughly thirty. Its place is therefore on large models and on machinery with massive hardware.
A part with a washer has a wider mating surface, so it holds on a model more surely than a bare head, but it takes an uneven surface less well. Level the place beforehand, therefore, and clear it of any remaining paint. Apply a drop of cyanoacrylate glue to the model, seat the part with tweezers and press only lightly, so that the glue is not squeezed out around the washer. When painting, let a dark shade settle in the gap between the washer and the surface; it is precisely that line which turns the part into a joint rather than a mere bump.
For modelers of large scales and for builders of dioramas who want readable bolted joints with a washer on their machinery. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
