This resin detail set replaces the landing gear wheels of a model of the F-16 Fighting Falcon Block 40 fighter in 1:48 scale. The castings match the strengthened landing gear of the blocks with a higher take-off weight. It is an accessory from the Czech manufacturer Kopecky Scale Models, not a standalone model.
From Block 40 on, the F-16 blocks received larger and more durable wheels because of the higher weight and the ability to operate with heavy external stores. The resin wheels have a crisper tread pattern, rims and valves than the plastic parts and are often cast with flattening at the contact patch, which gives the model a settled, realistic look.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and clean them up. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and protect your airways when sanding resin. Paint the tires and the rims separately; a circular mask helps with masking the rim.
This is a detail accessory, not an airplane model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
