Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German fighter Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 in 1:72 scale from the Czech firm AZ model. This is a short-run kit focused on aircraft of the unit JG 300, which took part in the defense of the Reich against Allied bombers. Short-run technology means the parts need a somewhat more careful cleanup and dry-fitting than kits from large-scale manufacturers.
The Bf 109G-6, nicknamed Gustav, was the most widely produced variant of the legendary German fighter Messerschmitt Bf 109. It was powered by the supercharged, liquid-cooled Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine and is distinguished by the bulges (Beule) on the fuselage cowling above the synchronized larger-caliber machine guns. The unit JG 300 was formed as a night-defense wing using the Wilde Sau (Wild Boar) method, in which single-seat fighters attacked bombers illuminated over the target; it later also took part in the daytime defense of the Reich.
With a short-run kit, first carefully separate the parts from the sprue with a sharp knife, clean up the mold flash and dry-fit everything before gluing — the sprues usually have no locating pins. Glue with thin liquid cement for plastic. Apply a primer before painting, spray the camouflage with an airbrush in thin coats and carefully mask the cockpit glazing. Highlight the panel lines with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
