A wooden deck in 1:700 scale for a model of the German armored ship Admiral Scheer, worked for the Fujimi 42129 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Admiral Scheer was among the German armored ships of the Deutschland class, for which the designation pocket battleships took hold because of the disproportion between a small displacement and heavy gun armament. During the Second World War she served above all as a commerce raider, that is as a ship sent on long independent voyages against Allied maritime trade.
A replacement for the deck areas that a kit renders with a uniform surface. The thin veneer is divided into strips imitating the individual planks and the gaps between them, so the deck gains the pattern and the color tone of real wood, which is reached by painting plastic only with difficulty. The set is worked for the Fujimi kit with the catalog number 42129 in 1:700 scale.
The area under the deck has to be smooth, dry and degreased; cut the raised plastic elements away and sand them down. Verify the way it is fixed, that is whether the deck has an adhesive layer of its own or is glued separately, in the manufacturer's instructions. Lay the parts on dry first and check how they line up, and only then fix them. Trim the excess with a new blade guided tight along the edge. The tone of the wood can be tuned with a thinned oil paint and secured at the end with matte varnish.
For ship modelers who want to bring out the difference between a wooden deck and steel superstructures in a small scale. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
