Masking film for the deck 1:700 for the battleship HMS Nelson 1944 from Artwox Model is a pre-cut self-adhesive stencil with which you spray the deck instead of gluing veneer on. The cuts match the Trumpeter 06717 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for a ship kit in 1:700 scale. In the package there are sheets of thin self-adhesive film cut to the outlines of the deck areas. It is not a model or a wooden deck but a tool with which the wooden and metal areas are separated by a clean edge. The films are cut to the decks of the Trumpeter 06717 kit.
Both routes lead to a good deck, but each has different strengths. Glued veneer gives the real grain of wood, yet it also raises the deck slightly and covers the engraved detail of the plastic. A sprayed deck with a mask stays at the original level and lets the engraved relief stand out. In 1:700 scale the difference in texture is also small to the eye, so a great many builders choose the mask. The drawback is that the result stands or falls with your own spraying.
Mix the base rather on the lighter side, as a dark deck fills the detail optically at this scale. Once the masks are off you can suggest minute differences between strips of planks with a fine brush; a shade half a tone different is enough. Push a dark wash into the seams only and wipe it off at once across them. At the end even the surface out with a very thin matte varnish, which must not fill the engraved lines.
This is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package. The accessory is cut for the Trumpeter 06717 kit; please check the match before buying.
