The accessory is a display base intended for a model of the Japanese battlecruiser Hiei in her fit of 1915, in 1:700 scale, from the manufacturer Kajika. It is not a model of the ship but an accessory for display, on which the finished model stands safely and gains a presentable, museum look.
The base holds the finished model in a stable position and protects it while it is handled. At the same time it unifies the look of a collection and lets you present the model nicely in a display case or on a shelf. It is usually shaped to suit the particular hull, so that the model sits down well.
Seat the model on the base following the shape of the hull and, if need be, secure it with a small amount of glue or with suitable pins. For a firm and clean seating, clean and degrease the surfaces before joining them. The base can also be combined with the nameplate of the ship.
This is an accessory for display, not a model in its own right. The base kit is not included in the package.
