The Aoshima 1:700 IJN Destroyer Maikaze 1942 is an injection-molded plastic kit of a Japanese destroyer from the Waterline range.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:700 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Aoshima captures the destroyer Maikaze of the Imperial Japanese Navy in her 1942 fit. The model is conceived in the style of the Waterline series, that is, a ship cut at the waterline, meant for a water surface or a diorama.
The Maikaze was a Japanese destroyer deployed in the Pacific during the Second World War. Fast destroyers of this type carried gun as well as torpedo armament and performed escort, convoy and night-fighting duties. The 1942 appearance matches the early wartime configuration of the vessel.
We recommend assembling the hull, the decks and the superstructures separately and painting them apart. The small guns, torpedo tubes and masts will be brought out by thin coats of paint and a wash; photo-etched parts can be added for the fine railings and ladders. Use shades of Japanese naval gray and finish with a matte clear coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
