A wooden deck in 1:700 scale for a model of the Japanese supply ship Mamiya, worked for the Pit-Road W163 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mamiya was a supply ship of the Imperial Japanese Navy, intended to carry food to the fleet at distant bases. She was not only a floating store: her equipment included the production of fresh food for the crews, which made her an exceptionally popular unit in the navy. In shape she differs from warships by a tall cargo deck and extensive handling equipment.
A replacement for the deck areas that a kit renders with a uniform surface. The thin veneer is divided into strips imitating the individual planks and the gaps between them, so the deck gains the pattern and the color tone of real wood, which is reached by painting plastic only with difficulty. The set is worked for the Pit-Road kit with the catalog number W163 in 1:700 scale.
The area under the deck has to be smooth, dry and degreased; cut the raised plastic elements away and sand them down. Verify the way it is fixed, that is whether the deck has an adhesive layer of its own or is glued separately, in the manufacturer's instructions. Lay the parts on dry first and check how they line up, and only then fix them. Trim the excess with a new blade guided tight along the edge. The tone of the wood can be tuned with a thinned oil paint and secured at the end with matte varnish.
For ship modelers who are interested in the auxiliary fleet as well and who want expansive deck areas rendered in wood. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
