Artwox Model 1:700 a masking template for the Japanese battleship Ise is a pre-cut mask that makes spraying on a plastic kit easier.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for modelers, not a ship model. The template is pre-cut to the shapes of one particular kit and during spraying it separates the areas that are to have different shades, without your having to cut a mask laboriously out of tape.
Masks are a consumable and their properties change over time. Leave the sheet in its original packaging until use, stored flat, away from direct sun and from heating: heat softens the adhesive and a mask then leaves residue on the model when removed. In the cold, on the other hand, the tack drops and the edges lift. Before sticking it on, let the template acclimatize for a while at room temperature and do not touch the adhesive side with your fingers.
Raise the small pieces with the tip of a scalpel or with tweezers. If some stretch does not fit exactly, as kits differ between releases, the edge can be trimmed right on the model with a new sharp blade led lightly along the engraving; there is no need to press, as the plastic under the mask is easily cut into. Fill any remaining gaps with narrow masking tape. After spraying, take the mask off as soon as the paint has set.
The mask is cut for the particular Hasegawa 49117 kit, so check the match with your version. Neither the kit nor paints are included in the package.
