An injection-molded plastic kit of the modern destroyer Kirisame of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (J.M.S.D.F.) in 1:700 scale from the waterline range of the Japanese brand Aoshima. The model captures a multi-purpose vessel with the hull at waterline level.
Kirisame is a modern multi-purpose destroyer serving with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. Vessels of this type handle anti-submarine, air defense and anti-ship tasks, and they carry a gun turret, a vertical launching system for guided missiles and a landing deck with a hangar for a helicopter.
Glue the fine plastic parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic and work on the tiny superstructure elements with a sharp knife. We recommend a primer, then shades of naval gray with an airbrush and picking out the decks and railings with a dry brush and fine washes. The model is a good base for the addition of photo-etched parts.
